Many people are surprised to find that stainless steel can be stained.
Routine cleaning is necessary to maintain the appearance of stainless steel, but requires only a soap or mild detergent wash followed by a rinse with clean water.
Stainless steel and chlorine do not mix. Stay away from the bleach when you clean stainless steel.
Unless specially formulated for stainless steel, bleaches, abrasives or chemical cleaners should not be used.
Stubborn stains may be removed with vinegar or a proprietary stainless steel cleaner. Always test on an area of less prominence first. Always rinse thoroughly and towel dry.
